Hiring Step 2:

Manager Onboarding in Workday

  1. Login to Workday and click on the Inbox icon.

  2. Click on the task “Hire: Candidate Name – Position – Location”.  This task gives you the opportunity to review and edit previously entered information such as start date.  Once you verify that all the information is correct, click Submit.

    1. Note: DO NOT change the Default or Scheduled Weekly Hours. This is only a suggestion for the number of hours you can schedule the new employee.

  3. The next step is Propose Compensation Hire.  This is where you will make any changes to the hourly compensation previously entered.  Click Submit once you verify the compensation is accurate.

  4. The next step is Review Compensation Hire.  This is the last chance you have to verify all of the compensation details you entered are correct.  Click Approve to confirm everything is correct.

  5. Once you confirm the compensation, the next step is Change Organization Assignments.  This information has been preloaded in Workday, so there should be no action needed here except to hit Submit.

  6. The last step is Review Employee Hire.  This is your final chance to make any changes to the new hire.  If everything is correct, click Approve.

  7. The employee has now been hired into your location.  While the new hire still must complete their half of the onboarding process before they can start, they have already been issued an employee number and are viewable in your Workday roster.  You can verify this information by clicking on Menu in the top left-hand corner and then clicking on My Team.  Click on the new employee’s name and you will see the details including the employee number.
