Open Enrollment Instructions

This Job Aid will guide you through the process of signing up for benefits through Open Enrollment. You can complete your benefits elections through either the desktop or Workday mobile app. The steps for each are listed below.

To aid you in this process, reference the Benefits Guide which details Finish Line’s benefit offerings. This is available via Connect/Departments/People.

Please Note: The benefit election process is specific to full-time employees who average at least 30 standard hours, or are determined to be eligible due to ACA.

Medical/Dental/Vision

Go to your Inbox.

If you are Benefits eligible, there will be a notification in your Inbox titled "Open Enrollment Change" Select this message, then click Let’s Get Started.

The Benefit plans you are eligible for will be visible here. Explore each plan available to you by selecting Enroll or Manage in each section. Within each plan, you will be presented with several options allowing you to elect, edit or waive each plan.

To enroll in any of the insurance options, click Select next to your desired options.

If you do not wish to enroll in Medical, Dental or Vision insurance, click Waive.

Click Confirm and Continue.

If you choose to elect dependent(s) simply click the check-box and Workday will automatically derive the coverage to the dependent(s) you select.

If you are enrolling anyone in addition to yourself, select either:

  • Existing Dependents:

If you have already entered your dependent(s), they will appear in a list to select from.

When complete, click Save. 

 

Health Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

To enroll in a Health Savings Account, click Select next to your desired options.

If you do not wish to enroll in a Health Savings Account, click Waive.

Click Confirm and Continue.

Please Note: If you do not enroll in any options, you will be taken back to the Benefits dashboard upon clicking Confirm and Continue

If you elect to enroll in a Health Savings Account, input the amount you would like to contribute (per paycheck or annually). Click Save.

 

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA)

Review your FSA election options (Health FSA or Dependent FSA). You can elect to participate in one FSA, both FSA's or none.

To enroll, click Select for your desired FSA(s). 

If you do not wish to enroll in any FSA’s, click Waive.

Enter an amount to contribute (The minimum and maximum contributions are listed). Select either:

  • How much do you want to contribute for the total year (Annual)?

  • How much do you want to contribute per paycheck (Bi-weekly)?

Please Note: If you enter an amount into either field, the other field will be automatically calculated.

When complete, click Save. 

 

Life and Disability Insurance

Review your Life and AD&D Insurance options.

If you choose to enroll in one or more of the insurance options, click Select next to the desired plan(s).

If you do not wish to enroll in any Life or AD&D Insurance, click Waive.

Click Confirm and Continue.

Some insurance plans are flat rate (set coverage level) while others provide election coverage level options. 

If you are provided with an option, click the Coverage drop-down menu to select the amount of coverage you wish to purchase.

Select the amount of coverage you wish to purchase.

Please Note: If you elect new Life Insurance coverage, you may be required to submit an EOI (Evidence of Insurability) form with New York Life (Formerly Cigna). This will be a separate task in your Workday inbox after you’ve submitted your Open Enrollment Elections.

When complete, click Save. 

 

Beneficiary Elections

Your beneficiary for Basic Life will apply to all insurance plans (Supplemental Life, AD&D).

If you are enrolled in multiple plans, you only need to designate a beneficiary for one of the plans. Your beneficiary will apply to all plans.

Please Note: This is required for the free, employer-provided Life Insurance.

To elect a beneficiary, click the Add button.

Click the Beneficiary drop-down menu.

To elect an existing beneficiary, select Existing Beneficiary Persons.

To elect an existing institution, select Existing Trusts.

Or to add a beneficiary, select Add New Beneficiary or Trust.

Please note that certain states require a spouse to have at least a 50% beneficiary designation. If you elect less than 50% for a spouse, this designation may not be valid.

When complete, click Save. 

 

Benefit Elections Review

Take a few moments to review your elected benefits. When complete, click Review and Sign.

Review and once verified, click Submit.

If you would like to print your Benefits Elections, Click View Benefits Statements.

Click Print.

 

Click Done.

If you elected Supplemental Life Insurance for you and/or your spouse, you will be required to submit an EOI form through New York Life formerly Cigna.

 Click the To Do button in your Workday inbox for more information. 

If you did not elect this option, you are complete.

The Open Enrollment Event process is complete. 

Any benefits you have elected are effective January 1st of the Next Year.
